Summary The primary data source for this dataset was the annotated genome sequence of Escherichia coli O157:H7 str. EDL933 [Perna01]. This annotated genome has been deposited in public databases (accession number AE005174). This sequence contained gaps which have since been better characterized. The corresponding gap sequences were not utilized for generation of this dataset.

This dataset was derived computationally using the Pathologic program [Karp99]. The PGDB, which integrates the biochemical reaction network and metabolic pathways of the organism with its genome, was improved by limited manual curation.
